Where the Moselle River merges with the Rhine River, you'll find the Deutsches Eck (German Corner), a place steeped in history and significance. Koblenz takes pride in this landmark, which serves as both a starting and ending point for many cyclists and hikers. At the Deutsches Eck stands the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, erected in 1891 in memory of Kaiser Wilhelm I. It is an impressive sight admired by more than 2 million people each year. The monument is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley, which preserves and honors the unique cultural landscape along the Rhine.
