CHIO Aachen is one of the most prestigious equestrian festivals in the world and has been held in Aachen for over 100 years. The first tournaments were held here in 1924, and today the event is known as the “World Equestrian Festival.” Every year, the best athletes, guests, and tourists from all over the world gather here.

However, the CHIO is about more than just sports. For many, it is the atmosphere of a grand international festival: music, beautiful venues, food courts, evening shows, and the feeling of a true European summer. That is why even those with no interest in equestrian sports often come here—simply for the excitement and the atmosphere. (Stadt AachenAttachment.png)

Moreover, for migrants, it presents a wonderful opportunity to better integrate into city life, discover the cultural side of Aachen, and spend time with the international community. The CHIO brings together people of all ages and nationalities, and events like this help them feel welcome in their new surroundings.
