"Klimafasten” is a church initiative of 25 Protestant and Catholic partner organizations that each year places climate protection at the center of the Lenten season.
For the third time, the Diocesan Council is participating as a cooperation partner in the annual “Klimafasten” campaign.
In 2026, the campaign will take place from 18 February to 5 April.
In 2026, “Klimafasten” is dedicated to the theme “How much is enough?”. Different thematic focuses are set each week.
In 2026, the Diocesan Council will once again organize a range of events as part of the “Klimafasten” campaign.
A theatrical workshop performance entitled “On the Edge – A Workshop Show” addresses opposing perspectives on the coal phase-out.
In addition, the video contribution for the fourth week of “Klimafasten” will present Café Plattform and the diverse project Querbeet Aachen.
All events organized by the Diocesan Council, as well as the weekly spiritual reflections of the “Klimafasten” campaign, are available at www.klimafasten.de and www.dr-aachen.de.
We warmly invite you to take part in the campaign and support its promotion. Posters and postcards are available for this purpose.
If you are planning an event that corresponds to the theme of the campaign, it can be promoted on the Diocesan Council’s website as well as on the official “Klimafasten” website.
