To best prepare you for your studies, the International Office of RWTH Aachen University, in cooperation with the Chair of Algebra and Representation Theory, offers two free programs:
Mathematics Preparation Course for Refugees and International Students (High School Graduate Level)
This course helps you refresh your mathematics skills to ensure a smooth start to your studies at RWTH Aachen University.
Goal of the Course
Preparation for studying at a German university
Refreshing or acquiring the necessary mathematics knowledge
Learning subject-specific language
Getting to know RWTH Aachen University
Dates: The course will take place online from April 27, 2026, to June 11, 2026, on the following days:
Mondays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tuesdays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Thursdays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Language Requirement: At least B1
Registration: By April 12, 2026, by sending a PDF scan of your residence permit and proof of your German language skills in PDF format to flucht@rwth-aachen.de
Location: Online
Participants who attend at least 17 of the 24 sessions will receive a certificate of participation.
Programming Course for Refugees and International Students
You will learn the basics of a programming language in a playful, example-oriented way. Programming, IT, and software development are increasingly permeating numerous academic professions, so a fundamental understanding is essential. This course will therefore ease your entry into a (technically or scientifically oriented) degree program at RWTH Aachen University.

Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Wednesdays: 5:00 PM – 7:15 PM
Fridays: 5:00 PM – 7:15 PM
Language Requirement: At least B1
