On the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Ukraine Museum will open its doors in the Kreuzberg district. Located in a bunker near Anhalter Bahnhof station, it will be the first museum outside Ukraine to report directly on the reality of this war. The project was launched without government funding.
The new venue aims to create a space for remembrance, knowledge, and cultural exchange. Visitors can learn about Ukraine's history, culture, and present day, as well as the experiences of war, resistance, and everyday life since 2022.
The exhibition focuses on personal stories, artistic works, documents, and testimonies that reveal not only destruction, but also solidarity, identity, and reconstruction.
The organizers emphasize that February 24 is not only a day of remembrance, but also a reminder of Europe's responsibility to preserve the truth about the events and support democratic values.
In the future, the museum will serve as a place of education and encounter, offering space for lectures, discussions, film screenings, and cultural events.
