In the Diocese of Erfurt, the Caritas, sometimes complemented by the Malteser Hilfsdienst, and in Heiligenstadt, Villa Lampe, provide advice, support, and assistance to refugees. Within the pastoral office, there is a contact person for those engaged in the parishes who maintains close contact with the volunteer coordinators from Caritas and the Malteser Hilfsdienst. This contact person also collaborates with the education center to organize and oversee further training events.
